Orphan Sponsorship

The WAMATA-Pamoja Project Sponsorship Program was created to help children who have lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDS to lead healthy and productive lives. Education is the cornerstone of our efforts, but the physical health and emotional wellbeing of each child are also important to the Pamoja Project.

Secondary School Orphan SponsorshipThe practical goals of our program are:

  • To keep sponsored children in school on a regular basis
  • To keep sponsored children healthy
  • To prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in the homes of sponsored children
  • To provide emotional support to sponsored children and their guardians, as well as links to community resources

Trained WAMATA counselors work closely with sponsored orphans and their caretakers to make sure that sponsor support makes a difference in their lives. Each sponsored child receives all of their school needs, uniforms, fees, and supplies as well as transportation. Sponsors receive a photo of their child as well as periodic updates.

Primary School Orphan Sponsorship - $180.

Secondary School Orphan Sponsorship - $580.

Vocational training can save the lives of mature orphans who need a trade to support themselves and avoid the lure of unhealthy activities. Pamoja Project provides sponsorships to motivated young people who wish to study for careers in carpentry, masonry, or auto mechanics. These courses are usually 2 years in length, so we ask for a 2 year commitment from vocational training sponsors.

Vocational Training Sponsorship - $480.
