Micro-Loan

Micro-loanWhat is a micro-loan? It is a small amount of money that can be used as the first step to financial sustainability for a Tanzanian family. Pamoja Project’s Microloan Program offers small loans and free money management training to grandparents raising AIDs orphans, people living with HIV/AIDS, and other local persons interested in beginning small scale income generating activities from a local, grassroots source.

As of May 2009, we have made over 200 loans with a repayment rate of 96%. Many of our borrowers go on to larger second or third loans as their businesses become more successful.

Through careful oversight, adequate training, and a cooperative approach our program has created an atmosphere of mutual support in the community that leads to high rates of compliance.

Minimum Donation - $100.
