Our Team

Carol Parker
Executive Director
carol-parkerCarol Parker founded the Pamoja Project in early 2005, after returning to the US from a 2004 stint volunteering in Tanzanian HIV/AIDS projects. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and has spent many years writing on and researching public health issues, both domestic and international. Carol  presented a session at the International AIDS Conference in 2008, and has also spoken on HIV/AIDS in Africa at a variety of other venues in the United States.  In the fall of  2009, she completed her PhD in Public Health with research on Tanzanian children who are both orphaned and HIV-infected. Carol makes her home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
