About Us

about-usIn the Kiswahili language, “Pamoja” means “Together”. Our name mirrors the fact that we ask our local partners what they think would be the best strategies for meeting the needs of their communities, and then work together to develop useful and sustainable programs. Unlike some international organizations, we believe locally developed, culturally appropriate approaches are the ones that will work. Our successes since our founding in 2005 show that we are right.
